Squarespace DKIM and Domain Authentication Guide

❌ SPF

✅ DKIM

Squarespace is an all-in-one website building and hosting platform that allows users to create and publish professional websites without the need for coding.

This guide explains how to configure DKIM for Squarespace to ensure your emails pass DMARC alignment checks, reduce the risk of spam, and enhance overall email security.

Squarespace currently does not support SPF alignment, so this article focuses only on the DKIM configuration process.

DKIM Configuration

Follow the steps below to configure DKIM authentication in Squarespace:

1.Log in to your Squarespace account as an administrator.

2.From the left sidebar, navigate to MarketingEmail CampaignsEmail Campaign Settings.

3.You’ll be prompted to Add Sender, where you must specify the Sender Name and Sender Email Address associated with the domain added in Squarespace (the same domain you’ll be configuring DKIM for).

2-20251111-224134

4.A verification email will automatically be sent to the address you provided. Verify your email address to proceed.

5.Once verified, you’ll be redirected to the Sender Details page. Locate your domain and click Authenticate. Squarespace will then generate the required DNS records for authentication.

3-20251111-224105

Squarespace provides: One CNAME record for DKIM configuration. One TXT record for DMARC configuration.

6.Copy the CNAME record and publish it in your DNS provider’s zone for your domain.

(In the example below, Cloudflare is used as the DNS provider).

7.Save the record.

Note:
If you’re using Cloudflare, make sure to turn off the proxy status (set to DNS only) for the CNAME record.

DMARC TXT record Configuration Note: If you already have a valid DMARC record published for your domain, do not add or replace it with the DMARC record provided by Squarespace. Each domain can only have one DMARC record.

8.After publishing the required record(s), allow some time for DNS propagation.

Once propagation is complete, return to your Squarespace dashboard and click Authenticate Domain.

Squarespace will then verify your DNS configuration, and once successful, your domain and sender details will appear as authenticated.

After completing this setup, all marketing emails sent from Squarespace on behalf of your domain will pass DMARC validation through DKIM authentication, improving your email deliverability and domain reputation.
