SPF and DKIM setup for Agile CRM
✅ SPF
✅ DKIM
This instructional article will demonstrate the Agile CRM configuration process of Sender Policy Framework (SPF), DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) Signatures to ensure Autotask passes the DMARC alignment check and eliminates spam from your domain, and increases security.
The SPF record identifies the mail servers and domains that are allowed to send email on behalf of your domain. The DKIM record, on the other hand, is a specially formatted DNS TXT record that stores the public key the receiving mail server will use to verify a message’s signature. These email authentication methods will be used to prove to ISPs and mail services that senders are truly authorized to send email from a particular domain, and are a way of verifying your email sending server is sending emails through your domain.
Agile CRM is an all-in-one customer relationship management (CRM) platform that helps businesses manage sales, marketing, and customer service in one place. It offers features like contact management, email campaigns, automation, deal tracking, and more.
1. Click on your profile, then go to the Admin Settings page.2. From the left sidebar, navigate to the Email Settings section > DKIM & SPF Settings page.
3. You will see a section where you need to specify your domain name that you want to authenticate for sending emails.
4. Once you add your domain, the system will generate the required DNS records (2 TXT and 1 MX record) that you need to publish in your DNS.
5. You also have the option to add CNAME records instead of TXT records by clicking on the Get CNAME Records button, and the system will generate three CNAME records instead of the 2 TXT and 1 MX records.
Important note: Whether you go with the TXT or the CNAME records doesn’t matter, as the SPF and DKIM configurations will be completed either way.
6. In my case, I’m going with the 2 TXT and the MX record option. Please find the records published in the DNS in the screenshot below (we’re using Cloudflare DNS in this example).
8. Allow some time for the records to propagate. Once they have propagated successfully, Agile CRM will validate the records for your added domain, and you will see them as verified/valid with green checkmarks.
Congratulations, you now successfully authenticated your outgoing mail stream from Agile CRM with SPF and DKIM.
