Slack Integration

This guide will walk you through connecting your EasyDMARC account to Slack, configuring your notification preferences, and managing the integration.

Part 1: Connecting EasyDMARC to Your Slack Workspace

This one-time setup process takes just a few minutes and will authorize EasyDMARC to send notifications to your Slack workspace.

Step 1: Locate the Slack Integration

  • Log in to your EasyDMARC dashboard.
  • Navigate to the Settings section, then click on the Integrations tab.

Step 2: Start the Connection Process

  • Find Slack in the list of available integrations.
  • Click the Add to Slack button to begin.

Step 3: Authorize the App in Slack

  • You will be redirected to a Slack authorization page. This page will show the "EasyDMARC" app name and list the permissions it needs to function.
  • These permissions allow EasyDMARC to post messages and list your public channels so you can select them for notifications.
  • Review the permissions and click Allow.

Step 4: Confirm the Connection

  • After clicking "Allow," you will be automatically redirected back to your EasyDMARC dashboard.
  • You will now see a confirmation message and the Slack integration will show as "Connected."

Part 2: Configuring Your Notification Preferences

Once connected, you can choose exactly where you want to receive different types of notifications. This helps reduce noise and ensures alerts are sent to the most relevant channels.

Step 1: Open Notification Settings

  • On the Slack integration settings page within your EasyDMARC dashboard, you will see dropdown menus for each notification category:
  • Alerts: For critical events like DNS changes and new source detection.
  • Audit Logs: For account activity like domain additions or removals.

Step 2: Select Your Channels

  • For each category, click the dropdown menu to see a list of the public channels in your Slack workspace.
  • Select the channel where you want to receive that type of notification. You can send all notifications to one channel or route them to different ones.
  • Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page. Your integration is now active!

Note on Private Channels:

To send notifications to a private channel, you must first invite the EasyDMARC app into it.

  1. In your Slack desktop or mobile app, go to the private channel.
  2. Type /invite @EasyDMARC and press Enter.
  3. After inviting the app, return to the EasyDMARC settings page and refresh. The private channel will now appear in the dropdown lists.

Part 3: Managing or Disconnecting the Integration

You can update your settings at any time.

  • To Change Channels: Return to the Integrations page in your EasyDMARC settings, select a new channel from the dropdown menu, and click Save Changes.
  • To Disconnect: On the same page, look for a "Disconnect" or "Remove" button. Clicking this will immediately stop all notifications and revoke EasyDMARC's access to your Slack workspace. You can reconnect at any time by following the setup steps again.
