I Published a DMARC Record with EasyDMARC’s RUA and RUF Addresses, But Haven’t Received Any DMARC Reports. Why?
If you’ve published a DMARC record that includes EasyDMARC’s RUA (Aggregate) and RUF (Forensic) addresses but haven’t received any reports yet, there are several reasons why this might happen. We’ve outlined the most common cases below:
Case 1: Initial Publication Delay
When a DMARC record with EasyDMARC’s RUA and RUF addresses is newly published, it can take up to 72 hours for the first DMARC reports to appear in your EasyDMARC account. After the initial reports are received, subsequent reports are typically delivered every 24 hours.
Case 2: Recipient Server Limitations
DMARC reports are generated by the servers of email recipients. There are a few scenarios to consider:
- Dedicated servers: Some recipient servers may not support DMARC reporting. In this case, no reports will be sent.
- Shared servers: For recipient servers that do support DMARC reporting, the time of report delivery can vary depending on the server’s schedule.
Case 3: Sender/Reporter (ESPs) Delays
Sometimes delays are caused by the reporting side itself, the Email Service Provider (ESP). Reports might be delayed temporarily due to issues or internal processing schedules on their end.
Case 4: Multiple RUA/RUF Addresses
If your DMARC record contains multiple RUA or RUF addresses, delivery of reports depends on the policies of each recipient server:
- Some servers may only send reports to one address.
- Others may limit the frequency of report delivery to multiple addresses.
