Zoho Desk is a platform that enables direct user-agent conversations across IM channels and converts emails into organized tickets. It automates tasks, enforces workflows and SLAs, and tracks email volume and responses.
Below is a brief breakdown of how to configure it with the needed email security protocols and meet DMARC requirements.
SPF for Zoho Desk
Zoho Desk’s SPF setup doesn’t support SPF alignment, as it uses its own Mail From domain for bounce management. Since SPF will always fail for its emails, setting up SPF for Zoho Desk is unnecessary. For more comprehensive guidance about SPF capability from different sources, check the details in our article.
In this case, it’s crucial to configure DKIM for the Zoho Desk to make sure the emails are DMARC compliant.
DKIM for Zoho Desk
- To set up DKIM, we need to log in to our Zoho Desk account and navigate to the setup section (click on the gear icon on the upper right corner of the screen).
2.Navigate to the “Channels” and select “Email”.
Navigate to the “DKIM Authentication” under the “Email” section from the left sidebar and click on the “Verify” button.
4. Zoho Desk will provide you with two TXT-type DKIM records that you need to publish in your DNS zone.
Note: It will also provide the SPF value which you can disregard as the source doesn’t support SPF alignment.
5. Copy those TXT-type DKIM records, navigate to your DNS zone, and add both records.
Note: I will be using CloudFlare as an example.
Note: DNS records might take some time to propagate.
6. Once both TXT-type DKIM records provided by the Zoho Desk are added to your DNS zone, navigate back to Zoho Desk and click the “Verify” button.
Your domain is now verified with the Zoho Desk DKIM records, so your emails sent out via Zoho Desk will pass DMARC without any issues.
Once the setup is complete, you can test the configurations using EasyDMARC’s Email Investigation tool. The desired result should be partially compliant and the email should pass DMARC with the DKIM.
