How to Offboard a Domain in EasyDMARC
Offboarding a domain from EasyDMARC is a straightforward process. The steps required depend on whether you are currently using our Managed Solutions.
Scenario 1: Domains Using Managed Solutions
If you have activated Managed DMARC, EasySPF, or Managed DKIM, you must deactivate these services first to avoid interrupting your email authentication.
Step 1: Deactivate Managed DMARC & EasySPF. Please follow the instructions in the articles below to properly disable these tools:
Step 2: Deactivate Managed DKIM
-
Migrate Records: Ensure all DKIM records currently stored in EasyDMARC are manually added to your domain’s DNS zone.
-
Verify: Confirm that no DKIM keys are missing from your DNS provider.
-
Remove the NS Record: Once confirmed, navigate to your DNS zone and delete the Managed DKIM NS record (published with the _domainkey prefix).
Scenario 2: Domains Without Managed Solutions
If you are not using Managed Services and simply verified your domain via a standard TXT record, the process is lighter.
-
Access your domain's DNS settings.
-
Locate your DMARC record.
-
Remove Reporting Addresses: Delete the EasyDMARC addresses from the rua and ruf tags.
-
Replace: Insert the new email addresses where you intend to receive future DMARC reports.
The last step of the domain's complete offboarding for both scenarios is removing the domain from the platform.
