Bimi Reporting

What Is BIMI Reporting?

BIMI Reporting is an analytics and reporting feature that tracks brand logo visibility across email inboxes that support BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification).

It provides clear, actionable insights into:

  • Whether your brand logo is being displayed in recipients’ inboxes
  • Which email providers are showing your logo
  • How often does your logo appear
  • Where authentication or configuration issues may limit visibility

Instead of guessing whether BIMI is working, BIMI Reporting gives you concrete data to measure performance and optimize results.

BIMI Reporting Dashboard Overview

1. Brand Impressions

What it shows:
The total number of times your brand logo was potentially displayed to recipients across BIMI-supporting email providers.

6. Email Authentication & Logo Display Funnel

What it shows: Visual progression from total emails sent to successful logo displays:

  • 5.2M / 100% - Total Volume (all emails sent)
  • 5.2M / 99.75% - DMARC Pass (emails that passed DMARC authentication)
  • 3.1M / 58.9% - Logo Displayed (emails where logo was potentially shown)

Why it matters: Shows the full BIMI implementation health and identifies drop-off points.

Customer value:

  • "Your DMARC authentication is nearly perfect (99.75%), providing a solid foundation for BIMI".

7. Email Delivery Path Analysis

What it shows:
Detailed performance by:

  • Sending domain or source
  • Receiving provider
  • Total volume
  • Logo display count
  • Logo display rate

Why it matters:
Pinpoints specific sending paths or providers where logo visibility is underperforming.

How BIMI Reporting Data Is Calculated

BIMI Reporting is powered by DMARC aggregate reports received from mailbox providers. These reports now include BIMI indicators when logo display occurs.

Key calculations include:

  • Brand Impressions: Total emails where BIMI passed

  • BIMI Coverage: Emails sent to BIMI-enabled providers ÷ total emails

  • Logo Display Rate: Logo displays ÷ total emails for a given path or provider

Data is typically updated within 24 hours, providing near-real-time visibility.

Do You Need a VMC/CMC Certificate?

While BIMI itself is defined as a DNS record, most major mailbox providers require a valid VMC or CMC certificate to display a logo.

Providers such as Gmail and Apple Mail enforce VMC/CMC requirements, while some others may display logos without a VMC/CMC under limited conditions. However, logo display without a VMC/CMC is not guaranteed and may change at any time.

How Long Does BIMI Setup Take?

Publishing a BIMI DNS record is quick, but overall implementation depends on:

  • DMARC policy enforcement (Quarantine or Reject 100%)
  • Logo compliance with BIMI specifications (SVG Tiny 1.2)
  • Trademark verification (In case of VMC)
  • VMC or CMC certificate issuance

In most cases, full BIMI implementation with a VMC or CMC can be completed within one to two weeks.

Conclusion

BIMI Reporting turns email branding into a measurable, data-driven strategy. Instead of wondering whether your logo is visible, you gain clear insights into brand impressions, provider coverage, authentication health, and long-term trends.

For organizations serious about trust, recognition, and inbox presence, BIMI Reporting provides the visibility needed to maximize the value of BIMI.
