Adobe Marketo integration guide
This guide covers how to set up the Marketo connection so EasyDMARC can pull your Sender Insights data. It also explains the DNS records — which, for Marketo, work a little differently (see the note below). Connecting Marketo takes a few Admin steps on the Marketo side.
To integrate Adobe Marketo with EasyDMARC, please check the steps below:
Before you start:
● An EasyDMARC account with permission to manage integrations (Organisation Admin or equivalent).
● Admin access to your Marketo instance (to create an API user and service).
● The sending/branding domain you use for Marketo emails.
Step 1 — Create an API-only user and role in Marketo
1. In Marketo, go to Admin → Users & Roles.
2. On the Roles tab, create a role and grant it the Access API permissions EasyDMARC needs to read your sending data for Sender Insights — at minimum Read-Only Activity (email sent/delivered/open/click/bounce/unsubscribe events) and, for larger instances, Bulk Extract. Add Read-Only Person if you also want lead-level context.
3. On the Users tab, invite a new user, mark it API Only, and assign the role you just created.
Step 2 — Create a LaunchPoint custom service
1. Go to Admin → LaunchPoint.
2. Select New → New Service, choose service type Custom, and assign the API-only user from Step 1.
3. Open View Details to reveal your Client ID and Client Secret. Treat them like a password.
Step 3 — Find your Marketo REST endpoint
1. Go to Admin → Web Services.
2. Copy your REST API base URL (it looks like https://<your-instance>.mktorest.com).
Step 4 — Connect in EasyDMARC
1. In EasyDMARC, go to Integrations → Adobe Marketo.
2. Enter your Client ID, Client Secret, and REST endpoint URL, then select Connect
3. EasyDMARC confirms the connection, and Sender Insights begins showing your Marketo delivery, open, click, and bounce data.
About DNS records for Marketo
Marketo does not expose DNS or DKIM/SPF through its API (it's an Admin-only function inside Marketo), so EasyDMARC can't fetch or manage those records through the Marketo connection. Instead, EasyDMARC verifies your Marketo sending domain's SPF/DKIM/DMARC using its own DNS check. To do that, add the domain in EasyDMARC and enter the DKIM selector Marketo assigned (find it in Marketo Admin → Email → SPF/DKIM).
